Visitors
We host visits from all around the world for people to come to our facility and learn about computer recycling or to see how a successful social enterprise is run.

Many of them go on to start up similar social businesses in their own area or country. We do not charge for these visits but a donation to our charity is always welcomed. You can sometimes find funding for these visits as research trips. Here are a few who have visited us recently:
We had two visitors from a budding enterprise in Manchester and another from Inkraider who came to look around our facility with a view to joining our network (REI) Regional Electronics Initiative and learning more about recycling and refurbishing computers. They are currently recycling ink cartridges and are wanting to expand. Thanks to Keith for spending time with us at Airedale Computing! He really helped myself and John from Recycle IT to get a clearer understanding of the process of running a successful computer recycling social enterprise. He answered all our questions in detail and was happy to give up the majority of his day to show us the whole system from start to finish". Anthony Quinn - CRN REBOOT in Inverness, Scotland came down and stayed overnight at the Tulip Inn at the Xscape in Pontefract. They learned all about computer recycling. The following day they visited our Wakefield shop to learn more about retailing their refurbished computers.

A contingent came from SLATE in Leeds as research into setting up a refurbishing operation under their current social enterprise.

Charles Ely and Carl Hodge on a research mission for Southlakes Society for the Blind

Ernie Nolan from Segedunum Computers in Newcastle are forming a social enterprise computer recycling section called Acorn Computers.
